So…I changed the color in our multipurpose room! I know, I know—why, Valeria? Why are you re-painting again? Well, let’s keep it simple: first, I don’t like to settle for something unless I truly love it; and second, I love change. When I have a new idea, I want to try it out.

Three years ago, we created this beautiful accent wall in the midst of the chaotic renovation of our kitchen. It might look like a lot of work, but it was actually very simple. The goal was to make it look and feel like the brick was always there. It took me a while to write this post, but here it is with all the information you need to get inspired to DIY. My sister-in-law and her partner began renovating their small kitchen last year. They removed the wall dividing the open concept living area and the kitchen, and took out the tiny island. Although these were major improvements, the kitchen still felt compact and didn’t meet their family's functional needs. So, when she asked me to help redesign and update her kitchen, of course I said yes. It was going to be another challenge with them living two hours away, but I knew it would be worth it for the perfect kitchen makeover.

A few months ago, I put all our home projects on pause to focus on designing my sister-in-law’s primary bedroom. With both her and her partner juggling full-time jobs and caring for their little girl under two, I know how essential it is to have a calm and inviting space to unwind at the end of each day. That's why I wanted to gift them this special bedroom makeover!

When we were designing our new front door with Simpson, I knew I wanted to incorporate more glass to let in as much natural light as possible. Natural light brings warmth and openness to a space, making it feel more inviting. However, more glass also meant figuring out how to maintain privacy. Although we don’t live on a busy street, we do experience a considerable amount of foot traffic, and our front door is relatively close to the sidewalk.

4 years ago I did an easy and affordable makeover in our laundry space, It was great at the beginning but soon after I realized it wasn’t the best use of the space. So 4 years later, I am making some changes.

Who says open shelves are a great idea in a laundry room? I did and I regretted it shortly after.
