Affordable Canopy Ideas for a Cozy Kids’ Room
Every now and then, I come across something I just have to add to our home.
One night, while searching Pinterest for an upcoming project, I stumbled upon the sweetest kids' bedroom with a canopy over the bed—and I instantly fell in love.
I found similar options on Etsy, but most were custom-made and priced over $200. Since this was a spontaneous idea, I wasn’t ready to commit to something custom, only to find I might not love it once it’s in the room.
So, I started searching for more affordable options—and found exactly what I was looking for: an adorable canopy for under $40! I quickly placed the order, and just a few days later, it arrived. I opened the package, hung it up, and it looked so cute!
To be completely honest, the stitching quality isn’t perfect—if you look closely, you can tell it’s not handmade with fine detailing. But it still gives the look I was going for, and that’s more than enough for now.
I don’t know how long we’ll keep it up—kids sometimes wake up hating something they loved the day before—but for this season of life, it feels just right.
What do you think? Canopy over the bed—yay or nay?
On the other hand, after years of living in this house, I was finally ready to commit to custom shades for Ella’s room. We installed the same ones in the boys’ room a few years ago, and I loved the quality and price so much that I decided to do the same for her.
I also updated her curtains for a little refresh. She loves green, and these have the cutest scalloped detail that we both adore.
I truly love her room—it’s full of pattern play, color, and little personal touches. And honestly, I can’t lie… I designed it partly for my inner child, and she is very happy.
