Cozy bedroom with modern boho vibes

This post was so overdue! Its been left unfinished for more than a few months. I promise this new year to be better with the blog! I am very excited to start creating more beautiful content for all of you.

Do you have a space in your home that you are completely neglecting or leaving behind? Or maybe you just donโ€™t feel inspired to work on it? this was that space for us, our bedroom. This space had quite a transformation in over a year (maybe a little more).

Letโ€™s recap!

When we moved in to this house I focused all my attention to make the other spaces feel like our own. The living room specially was my favorite space in the house -still is- and since it is the heart of our home I focused all my attention on creating a special space for our family. Our bedroom in the other hand was just a mix of everything we brought from the other house and just made them work in this new space, it was comfortable but nothing special. I just wasn't feeling inspired to tackle that space, I was also pregnant at the time so my attention was on the other spaces in the house. I was in full nesting mode, not the bedroom included.

In the mean time, I just added sconces, bought a new quilt and call it a day.

It was okay! I just didnโ€™t felt like designing this space. But I also wasnโ€™t loving it either. I didnโ€™t liked the yellowish paint color and the very old light fixture.

So one day after living in this house for over a year I felt inspired! finally I knew what I wanted to do in this space and I decided to create a mood board. What a difference! Creating a mood board helped me gather all the elements I wanted to use and visualize how they would look together before starting purchasing them. This time I wanted to buy everything at once instead of collecting piece by piece over time like I did with most spaces in our home. We kept the dresser and the nightstands, but changed everything else.

At the end I changed a few things on the design but the decor vibe I wanted to achieve for the space remained the same. A cozy bedroom with eclectic touches.

Lets see some pictures of the before, in its most chaotic weekend morning state (donโ€™t judge please! haha) We took these pictures just before we started working on painting the walls.

Now here is the after! Sooo happy with how it all turned out. If you noticed I made some changes from the original design plan. I loved the art piece in our living room better and decided to do a grid style gallery wall here instead (I did an IGTV on the gallery wall!) I love the gold frames and I might add three more on the bottom to make more of a statement wall.

The other change was the paint color. I fell in love with a Inso picture I found on Pinterest and that made me change my mind. At the end we used the green color for my daughter nursery and it all worked out perfectly.

The last change was the chair, I love the one we have so much and it is extremely comfortable, but I canโ€™t lie, kind of wished I picked out the first option! I love the rust color of that chair so I might have to incorporate it in a future design, lesson learned, always go with the first option you loved.

A view I never shared before, I like to stick some of our kids drawings and notes on the back of our door.
